This trailer for the new Star Trek: TOS DVDs actually makes the show "cool." Or at least fun in a campy sort of way. Not everyone agrees, however, especially some hardcore fanboys. But it seems like a good way to get a casual viewer, like me, to actually pay attention to the series. As someone put it in the AICN forums:
Have we not spent the last two decades convincing everyone that Star Trek is dull, pretentious drivel for socially inept eggheads? Why, a trailer like that might leave people thinking that Star Trek can actually be fun!
Also, that manically laughing child in the trailer IS Clint Howard.
