The online multiplayer game City of Heroes is pretty spiffy, I have to admit. Basically you make a superhero and join hundreds of other superheroes in protecting a Metropolis-like city. I toyed around with my brother's account and made a Iron Man-like character that I had a lot of fun playing, but I couldn't see myself shelling out $15 for the privilege of repetitively smacking around some computerized bad guys. Neither could my brother, who didn't renew his subscription after he free 30-day-trial ended. Still, that doesn't keep thousands of other people from playing it everyday and I believe it's the fastest growing online multiplayer games available.
So, what do you get when the makers of the game decide to hold a contest for its players? A contest where the player has to dress up as his or her character for Halloween? Well, Screenhead pointed out the results.
You get a bunch of people who are pretty brave to go out in public wearing spandex. Some of these costumes are very well made. Others are a little disturbing. I think they all deserve a new graphics card.
My favorite is the Scarlet Fist. He's near the end.
