According to ORblogs and my website's location meta tag, I live in Happy Valley, Oregon. As you can see, I live in this no man's land between Portland and Gresham. My parents' mailing address says we're in Portland, but the Internet (or at least ORblogs' mapping system) says we're in the magical land of Happy Valley. Yay, break out the soma tablets!
After a quick perusal of topics people in the PDX area seem to be blogging about, I would like to thank you personally for not talking about St. Helens. Even in the wasteland that is Indiana, I am well aware of the news orgy over this non-event, and I'm glad you restrained yourself.
PS. Blog, Flog, yeah I'm lookin' at y'all.
I try to keep my posts as unrelated to whatever is relevant in everyone else's lives as possible, except for mine of course. That, and I don't post frequently enough to be relevant about anything.
It was also the only thing people were talking about on the MAX ride to downtown this afternoon. That and the presidential debates (which were also heavily blogged).
Hey, it's not everyday that a volcano blows up in your backyard. If I don't pay tribute to St. Helens online, it could send a lava flow my way.
Okay Blog, you got me… I'm just terribly, terribly jealous. I spend 4 friggen' years in Oregon, and the second I move away something exciting happens. Ridiculous.
Feh! St. Helens isn't even in Oregon. Dern webfoots.
If it tosses ash in our yards it's as much ours as it is theirs.
I just read the summer issue of the OC. I missed the Hate issue and I'm way too lazy to deal with the PDF files on the site. I just wanted to say that the "whitey" article was quite nice.
Thanks Blog! I'm glad that article has pleased many OC readers, white and non-white.
Also, why all the commenting? We've already surpassed a cuponoodles record of 3 comments for one post. I don't think my site can take much more of this!
