One of my favorite bands of all time, Ozma, a power pop quintet out of Pasadena, broke up on Friday just after finishing their last tour. I'm glad I got a chance to see them this past November, but unfortunately they didn't stop by Portland one more time before calling it quits.
If you're into Weezer-ish kind of music, with allusions to Nintendo, Cold War-era Russia, Tron and Back to the Future, I'd suggest you find some of their music. I don't think you'll be left unsatisfied.
