This year has been a good year in the music world for me. First, in January, Ozma announced their reunion. Then just last week, after a seven-year hiatus, The Rentals returned. Now both bands are playing a show together. Unfortunately, this show will be in Los Angeles and as much as I love the two bands, I'm not willing to shell out the big bucks to fly to southern California to see a $18 show during summer term.
However, I am willing to shell out some cash to spend the upcoming holiday weekend with W2B at the Sasquatch Music Festival, where we will live off of Clif Bars, hot dogs and beer and see a number of excellent bands.*
Currently, we are anticipating weather ranging from a Woodstock-y downpour to the killer heat rays of the Coachella sun. In the Pacific Northwest, the likeliness for predictable weather is inversely proportional to the number of people who have a three-day weekend.
*We are, however, skipping the first night. I really wouldn't call myself a fan of Nine Inch Nails, or Bauhaus for that matter.
I woke up this morning with a scratchy throat and a cough. One of the hipster in attendance gave me a cold. A summer cold, the worst of all colds. I suspect it was the middle-aged couple that was chain smoking joints all day on Sunday.
Or maybe it was the teenagers who slept through all of the acts except possibly for 15 minutes of Death Cab For Cutie.
I just had a cup of noodles in Japan. They taste much better here. I think they Americanize them for the US and make them taste crappier. Who knew?
Cup: You're probably right. It could have been that girl that slept the entire time. She was probably a hoodie'd germ factory.
AD: But do they come with dehydrated carrots and peas? For your sake, I hope they're pea free.
