Apologies for the lack of posts lately. School and such have been occupying my time, but I'm hoping I can spew out my quickly fading memories of the last leg of my eurotrip on this here blog before the end of winter break. I'm also mulling over a few changes for cuponoodles in the near future. I'm considering a transfer over to Wordpress and perhaps focusing my efforts on this blog toward more specific subjects. I'm switching my academic direction from history to library and information science, so it might be interesting if I started an LIS-oriented blog. We shall see.
Oh, and have a merry freakin' Christmas!
If you're going to make some changes might I suggest animated GIFs? Lots and lots of them?
Or not.
Anyway, Happy Boxing Day!
Maybe I'll throw in some MIDI files too. Actually, my first "personal homepage"(long since gone) was on Geocities back in 1998. You can only imagine what kind of horrors laid within its pages.
There's a distinct lack of the tag on this site, Sho.
I can say, with some degree of certainty, that my webpage circa '98 was probably worse than yours. Mostly because I set out to make mine as obnoxious as possible. Lots of GIFs and an incredibly annoying wallpaper background. Remember "wallpaper"?
Ian: I saw that you meant write "<blink> tag" in your post. Wouldn't it be great to have an entire blog with text flashing like… this? Oh, wait, I guess the blink tag is disabled in MT. Sad.
Brandon: Ah, wallpaper. Those were the good ol' days where people didn't need to be embarrassed about their total lack of an eye for graphic design.
Sho Ikeda is switching majors? {Gasp!} I think Reed offers a Master's in finger painting. Ho ho ho, just joshing. LIS sounds fascinating. Remember when you had to write a research paper in fifth grade, and they hauled twenty of you at a time down to the library to show you how to use the card catalog system. Even though you'd basically just end up plagiarizing the World Book Encyclopedia's listing on penguins–plus one quote from a US NEWS and World Report story on ice caps? Is this what you're gunning for? Also, anyone care to recount their first experiences with internet porn? There was a kid at my high school who broke into one of the modulars, printed off hundreds of pages of smut, and was found the next morning curled up asleep with his pants around his ankles. Next…
Hmmm….so he broke in, printed up hundreds of pages of smut, decided to pleasure himself and made the wise decision to pass out right in the office? Nice. What ever happened to him? Did he drop out and become the youngest person to ever win an Adult Video Award?
Pete: Yeah, by this time I should really just go for a degree in peace studies at the UO. They'll take anyone. I'm not planning on working in a school library, but I am hoping for a job that leans a bit more in a techie direction (i.e. a dream job at Google).
As for Internet porn, heh, I think I'm just going to ignore that question.
Dude is currently serving his country in Iraq.
